CRISIS RADIO (2020)

Around March 2020 when everybody was on their toes during quarantine, bored, trying to figure out what to do with all these days now that have no purpose but to stay safe from the virus. During these times of quarantine, everybody had maxed out their current playlists and needed new music to listen to. I had received the same text about one too many times in one day, asking me to drop my current playlist... Then I had an idea to start a 24/7-ish radio station that would operate on 1988California.com called, “CRISIS RADIO” where I would talk shit from the comfort of my own home, stream music I fuck with, and try and form some sense of community where we were living in a space where we didn’t live in a space with any. So I had made a 20-ish hour playlist and compiled some of my favorite dialogue from my friends, celebrities, shows, etc. and in April 2020 I started testing Crisis Radio online.

I was going live every day hosting the show talking shit and playing my favorite music during quarantine. But sadly, everything has to come to an end... Kind of… Around September of 2020, everybody started to get a life and give less of a fuck about the pandemic. Restaurants were open, “outside”, you were socially acceptably able to see your friends, and everybody felt the need to attend work again so as soon as everything started to open back up, Livestream numbers went the FUCK down. So, I started to make pre-recorded one-hour mixes on Soundcloud so people could still listen to my friends and me talk shit and you could also hear what music we fuck with that month.
