West Hollywood, CA

Los Angeles, California might be the epicenter of entertainment, sports, and business, but somewhere in there, this city also stands as the vegan burger capital of the world. That’s why Tisha Custodio and I, Damian Alonso, have started our journey on Instagram to find the best vegan burger in LA. I met Tisha while filming the first season of her show Big Shot on DIsney+, and since then our friendship has flourished into laughs, love, memories, and very good vegan burgers. Below are a few of our first posts, but you can follow our Instagram @WeRateVeganBurgers to see what spots we hit up next and where your favorite LA vegan burger stands in our ratings.
MONTY’S GOOD BURGER (Echo Park)
Damian’s review: I’ll be honest, my review is biased. I’ve been going to Monty’s Good Burger since the day I moved to LA. It was my first meal here. The burger is always phenomenal and the shakes are great (one of, if not, THE best)! Very sugary but I love it! Maxed-out fries are a must every time. This is “weRATEveganburgers” so I won't give a super detailed review, but if you’re a vegan and you’re in LA, you HAVE to come here. It’s the law. I will say, while I think the burger is the best you can get in LA, I believe it’s time to add a newer cooler (bacon bbq maybe?) option. 10/10 always. (11/10 if u add that bbq burger!)
Tisha’s review: it’s my first time here and this place is one of the best vegan burger places I’ve ever been to. The single burger is In-N-Out quality 😩 and the fries with the garlic aioli sauce just hits the spot. A little salty but pretty darn good. I ended up getting the vanilla shake afterward (DAMN) which rounds my score to an overall 9/10. Bonus points for being doggie friendly!
(We went during the day they were partnering with Primitive Skate, hence the black buns)
HONEYBEE! (Hollywood)
Damian: This is a place I’ve returned to many times before. My experience today has solidified my feelings for HONEYBEEY as such: a lil better than mid. Their burgers are what the Burger King Impossible Whopper SHOULD taste like, but at the end of the day, it’s a gourmet Whopper. I love it for what it is, but it’s not my first choice. Milkshake is great. Got the Queen Bee! 6/10
TISHA: Alright kids, so the place is great. Good ambiance. LEGGO BEES. Good food. I will say that nothing is very special about this place, yet I was satisfied with my order so 7/10 !
FLOWER BURGER (West Hollywood, CA)
TISHA: 10/10! I was a little hesitant at first, but it was love at first bite. The burgers are as good as they look. The flavor was INCREDIBLE. I would 100000000% come back again!
DAMIAN: 9/10! I WAS SURPRISED. These burgers are gorgeous, very reminiscent of the Pretty Patties from The Krusty Krab! Now, I’m not the biggest fan of bean-based patties, but Flower Burger changed my mind! These were incredible! Best Bean-Based Burger I’ve ever had. Oatmeal Cookie was complimentary and very yummy.
